The Children's Garden Needs YOU!

Over the past 4 years the Children's Garden has grown from a one-time roadbed, rough and thinly covered with weeds, into a 4,000+ square foot place of beauty and amazement. During that time we've sponsored over 80 fun and learning events and activities, attended by hundreds of children & adults.

The Children's Garden is an independent, non-profit organization*, depending on volunteers to do the many tasks necessary to plant and maintain the garden and plan and implement our programs and community activities. Over the years we've had tremendous help!

However, recently volunteer assistance has declined substantially, forcing the Children's Garden Board to cancel 2 very popular major activities (our July 15/16 overnight camp out, and our November 6, First Feast Harvest celebration). We're worried that we may have to cancel even more. Also, we haven't been able to properly maintain the garden this year.

We need YOUR help!

Please volunteer for a few hours. There are a variety of tasks. Sign up for a one-time project, or help an hour or two a month. You'll make a difference in our community, and the kids will appreciate it!

Want more info on how and when to help? Call Don Mc Ghee at (248) 569-7676 or e-mail donmcghee@mindspring.com

(*The Children's Garden has applied for 501(c)(3) non-profit status. We are in the last stages of the application process, and expect to receive the designation in the near future.)
