The Police Department is housed in the north end of the City's
Municipal Buildings main level.
We currently have 9 full time
sworn officers, 1 police clerk, one code enforcement officer,
and a volunteer police force of 10.
Our current Chief is Bob
Jones.
The office hours for the police are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m., at which time normal business transactions such as requesting
a traffic accident report, a weapons purchase application,
contacting our Community Policing Officer, Code Enforcement
Officer etc. may be conducted.
The City contracts for fire, EMS (ambulance), and dispatching
services through the City of Southfield.
The Police Department has designated one of its officers,
Officer Mike Krause, as our Community Policing Officer.
Officer
Krause is available to discuss matters that normally would
go to a road patrol officer.
The Community Policing concept
is relatively new for this City and is evolving each day.
Any suggestions that you may have on how to improve our policing
efforts can be directed to Officer Krause (Ext.# 230).
In
addition, the City has instituted a bike patrol program so
that our officers can have a more direct relationship with
its residents.
