Refuse
Collection and Disposal
The
City contracts with an independent waste collection company for the pick-up of
refuse and recycling materials.
Currently, the City’s refuse collection
is being done by Tringali Sanitation.
They can be contacted
at (248) 585-9120.
Please refer to the "Guide to Lathrup Village
Codes" for information about the rules for the placement of refuse at the
curb.
You will also find a current listing of the recycling materials that
the City accepts.
When you move into your home, you should have a recycling
bin.
The bins must stay with the property. If you do not find a bin, please
contact City Hall Offices at (248) 557-2600.
The entire city has Friday refuse and recycling collection. In case of a holiday affecting Friday collection, a one day delay to Saturday pick-up will apply.
Please place
trash and recyclables out before 7 a.m.
The disposal of our refuse
and recyclables is coordinated through the Southeastern Oakland County Resource
Recovery Authority (SOCRRA), of which the City is a member of.
The City,
together with 13 other communities, provides a variety of disposal options.
These options include a composting facility that returns a percentage of compost
to each community based on the tons they deliver, a materials recovery facility
that sorts recyclables and returns a credit to participating communities, and
transfer stations for the delivery of refuse.
They also provide information
on care and maintenance of lawns, and helps promote recycling efforts.
