Comprehensive Plan

Per the Planning Enabling Act (PA 33 of 2008) communities are required to review their master plans and make updates as necessary. The City of Lathrup Village updated the master plan in 2014.  In the Fall of 2019, the Planning Commission began the process to re-examine the master plan to ensure the community's vision, and goals for achieving that vision, are still relevant. In addition to updating the master plan, the city has chosen to update and consolidate the Parks and Recreation Plan and Downtown Development Plan into a single Comprehensive Master Plan. Doing so recognizes the inter-connectedness between each document, and aims to ensure consistency during the implementation phases.

PLAN

Lathrup Village Planning Commission adopted the updated 2021 Comprehensive Plan at their July 20, 2021 meeting and has already begun to implement several goals and objectives.
