🌳 Reminder: Curbside Chipping Service Ends June 29, 2026 🌳
The City's curbside chipping service, provided by Fontenot, will conclude next Monday (June 29).
Due to budget constraints, the City Council voted at its February 23 regular meeting to discontinue this service at the end of the current fiscal year.
Beginning July 1, 2026, property owners will be responsible for the removal and disposal of branches from their property, including branches from trees located within adjacent tree lawns/right-of-way areas.
Residents may consider the following options for branch disposal:
✔️ Hire a private chipping service at their own expense
✔️ Cut branches into smaller pieces and place them in yard waste bags for collection
✔️ Properly bundle brush (less than 2 inches in diameter and less than 4 feet in length) for yard waste collection by Tringali
✔️ Burn branches in a properly constructed and legally permitted fire pit on private property, in accordance with applicable regulations
Residents who wish to utilize the City's curbside chipping service should place eligible branches at the curb before 7:00 AM next Monday (June 29).
Thank you for your understanding as the City continues to manage services responsibly while addressing budget challenges.
We will reopen at 8 AM on June 22.

🚫🦌 PSA: Please Do Not Feed Deer Within City Limits
While deer may seem friendly and harmless, feeding them can create serious problems for both residents and wildlife. Feeding deer encourages them to gather near homes and roads, increases the risk of vehicle accidents, spreads disease, and can lead to aggressive behavior toward people and pets.
Artificial feeding also disrupts their natural foraging habits and can damage neighborhood landscaping and vegetation.
For the safety of our community and the health of local wildlife, please do not place food out for deer within City limits.
Thank you for helping keep our neighborhoods safe and our wildlife wild.
