City of Lathrup Village Announces Certified Results of the November 2025 Election

Lathrup Village, MI – November 17, 2025

The City of Lathrup Village today announced the certified results of the November 4, 2025, General Election. The Oakland County Elections Division has completed its canvass, and all results are now official.

Voters selected candidates for the Lathrup Village City Council, and turnout reflected the community’s continued commitment to civic engagement and local leadership. The certified results are as follows:

  • Jalen C. Jennings – 1,124 votes (34.47%)

  • Bruce Kantor – 1,115 votes (34.19%)

  • John Sousanis – 771 votes (23.64%)

  • Carlisa Mathis (Write-in) – 218 votes (6.69%)

  • Rejected write-ins – 33 votes (1.01%)

Jalen C. Jennings & Bruce Kantor, as the top two vote-getters, have been elected to serve four-year terms on the City Council. John Sousanis, as the third highest vote-getter, has been elected to serve a two-year term.

Voters approved Charter Amendment Proposal 1, which updates the City Charter to reflect changes in election laws:

  • Yes – 1,211 votes (74.39%)

  • No – 417 votes (25.61%)

Voters rejected the Headlee Override Millage Proposal, which would have returned City millages to Charter-approved rates of 20 mills for general operating and 3 mills for refuse:

  • Yes – 626 votes (38.22%)

  • No – 1,012 votes (61.78%)

“We thank all residents who took the time to participate in this election and help shape the future of Lathrup Village,” said City Administrator Greene. “We also extend our appreciation to the election workers and volunteers who ensured a smooth, secure, and transparent process.”
