Lathrup Village, MI — January 21, 2026 — The City of Lathrup Village is proud to announce its selection as one of six communities selected to participate in the Recast Leaders Cohort, a distinguished initiative in partnership with the Michigan Municipal League and Recast City that empowers local leaders to accelerate community and economic development.
Recast Leaders is a proven, action-oriented program designed to help municipalities build capacity, unlock local assets, and create tangible momentum toward strategic goals. Over the course of the 10-month cohort, starting in February 2026, Lathrup Village will engage in expert coaching, peer learning, and community-focused strategy building to advance smart, sustainable, and community-driven outcomes.

The program emphasizes identifying and strengthening community assets, building powerful coalitions, and removing barriers to progress. Participants will develop customized action plans focused on implementation that drives measurable community impact within the first year of graduating from the cohort.
As part of the cohort, representatives from Lathrup Village will collaborate with peers from other Southeast Michigan cities to share strategies, learn best practices, and build lasting relationships that support sustained local success.
