LATHRUP VILLAGE, MI — The City of Lathrup Village has been awarded $19,824 through Oakland County’s Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) to help offset the cost of reconstructing Rainbow Circle between Red River and Rainbow Drive. The funding was approved by the Oakland County Board of Commissioners and will support the larger roadway reconstruction project with an estimated total cost of approximately $589,990.
The Rainbow Circle reconstruction project is part of the City’s ongoing efforts to maintain and improve local infrastructure, enhance neighborhood safety, and preserve the quality of life for residents. The project will include a partial reconstruction of the roadway, providing a long-term solution to aging pavement conditions and improving reliability for motorists and residents alike.
“The City appreciates Oakland County’s continued partnership and investment in local communities,” said City Administrator Mike Greene. “While this grant represents a small portion of the overall project cost, every dollar helps reduce the financial burden on the City, while allowing us to make critical infrastructure improvements.”
The Oakland County Local Road Improvement Program was established to assist cities and villages with targeted road maintenance and improvement projects that support economic development and community investment. Funding is provided through a competitive allocation process and is intended to supplement local road improvement efforts.
Construction on Rainbow Circle is an ongoing part of the City’s road improvement program and is anticipated to be completed in the coming months.
