Lathrup Village Snowfall Policy
In the event that snowfall accumulations are 3+ inches, the LVPD will call the DPS staff member on call.
Priority 1
All major arterial streets are salted and plowed. These include:
Sunset Blvd (Roseland to Southfield Road)
Santa Barbara Drive (11-Mile to Roseland Blvd)
Bloomfield Drive (11-Mile to 12-Mile)
Lathrup Blvd (Lincoln Drive to 12-Mile)
Rainbow Drive (11-Mile to Southfield Road)
Priority 2
When Priority 1 routes are done, crews shift to Priority 2, which includes all intersections and City Hall (during office hours and when the Community Room is booked for events).
Crews salt intersections only where the majority of stopping and turning takes place. This permits "tracking" of salt beyond the intersection, and within a few days after a snow, the area is free of ice or snow for the most part. Concentrating on intersections protects the streets and environment, also saving the taxpayers' money.
Priority 3
All LV streets are plowed but not salted. This typically includes two heavy plow trucks and one pickup truck, which is primarily tasked with intersections and dead-end streets.

The Lathrup Village Children's Garden board members are officially announcing their retirement. Many of them have been involved in the garden for over 20 years. They are thankful for the friends, memories, and experiences they have shared with the community, but it is time to pass the torch. If you are interested in being a part of the garden's future, please click on the link to complete a short questionnaire
