Water Main Break - 6/4 There is a water main break on the circle drive behind University Academy. Crews are evaluating the situation and will begin addressing it shortly. Impacted properties have been notified.

BROWN WATER INFORMATION If you are experiencing brown water, the Southfield Fire Department is conducting hydrant flow testing throughout town today (5/30). This flow testing causes increased flow through certain parts of the water system, which may result in pipe sediment being stirred up and released. To help remove brown water from your property, run cold water from the faucet closest to your water meter.

City Note - 5/25 City Hall is closed tomorrow (5/26) in observance of Memorial Day Curbside collection (trash/recycling/brush) will be delayed until Tuesday (5/27)

City Council 5/19 Meeting The City Council will hold its second Public Act 33 public hearing on May 19, 2025, beginning at 7:30 PM, for consideration of a Special Assessment Roll concerning the Public Act 33 Police & Fire Special Assessment District. The City Council will hold a public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 budget on May 19, 2025, beginning at 7:30 PM.

USPS - Letter Carriers' Food Drive The USPS Letter Carriers' Food Drive is taking place this Saturday (5/10). Put your non-perishable donation in a bag by your mailbox, and USPS will deliver it to a local food bank.

REMINDER - WATER NOTICE TODAY (5/1), around ~10 AM, the City will have the 12-Mile meter turned on. This project may result in a change in water flow for parts of the City's northern half. This change could result in discolored water at your property due to sediment in the pipes being stirred up. If you experience brown water, run the COLD water at the faucet closest to your water meter until it runs clear. Once the project is complete, the City anticipates having higher water flow rates in the City's northern half.
