The Lathrup Village Police Department is having work completed in their office beginning today (1/8). This work will cause the police side of City Hall to be closed.

The LVPD office will reopen on Monday (1/12). The remainder of City Hall is open during this work.

If you need to speak with an officer at City Hall during this time, please call the non-emergency number at 248-354-1010. Dispatch will still have an officer respond to you in the lobby. Thank you for your patience while we get this completed.

Stay safe!

12/29 - Trash/Recycling Collection

Due to the high winds, if you placed your bins at the curb last night, please look at them this morning to ensure they are still standing and items have not blown away. This will greatly help Tringali complete the route.

Lathrup Village Snowfall Policy

In the event that snowfall accumulations are 3+ inches, the LVPD will call the DPS staff member on call.

Priority 1
All major arterial streets are salted and plowed. These include:

Sunset Blvd (Roseland to Southfield Road)
Santa Barbara Drive (11-Mile to Roseland Blvd)
Bloomfield Drive (11-Mile to 12-Mile)
Lathrup Blvd (Lincoln Drive to 12-Mile)
Rainbow Drive (11-Mile to Southfield Road)

Priority 2
When Priority 1 routes are done, crews shift to Priority 2, which includes all intersections and City Hall (during office hours and when the Community Room is booked for events).

Crews salt intersections only where the majority of stopping and turning takes place. This permits "tracking" of salt beyond the intersection, and within a few days after a snow, the area is free of ice or snow for the most part. Concentrating on intersections protects the streets and environment, also saving the taxpayers' money.

Priority 3
All LV streets are plowed but not salted. This typically includes two heavy plow trucks and one pickup truck, which is primarily tasked with intersections and dead-end streets.
